Just last week that I came back from a long-haul trip to one of our largest manufacturing facilities. A vast piece of land shaved off a forest an hour and a half’s drive from the capital. Unknown to its workers, the long shadow of corporate restructuring now stretches over its grounds.
Back on Wednesday I’d had lunch with Kovacs, one of the plant HR directors who patiently took me through all the expected steps of the restructuring process. Over coffee he bent forward and quietened his voice “you can only survive these processes through personal detachment.” he forewarned “do not allow yourself to get involved.”

DENIAL
Isn't the power of denial once more the tool used by your characters to face their moral confrontation?
Is it unwillingness to face the real situation in their hands?
